The NW School of Radiology has 3 main training sectors:

- Lancashire & South Cumbria
- Greater Manchester
- Cheshire & Merseyside.
At recruitment selection, trainees will rank preference of sector. Once in an allocated sector there is little opportunity to swap sectors, so you will need to be prepared to commute if you live outside your allocated sector.

Rotations can be based at any training site within an allocated sector, there may be educational reasons to be based in another sector and will be discussed if required, this includes sub specialty training centres eg interventional, neuro and paediatrics where there may be limited opportunities within a certain sector.

- ST1 includes a 4 month Academy teaching rotation for all sector trainees - from late 2024 this will be based in Altrincham Health & Wellbeing Centre
- ST2 includes a 3 month teaching rotation and simulation training for all sector trainees. During these placements there is no on-call or nights. These will be on a rotational basis at either Alder Hey, The Christie or Royal Blackburn.
Please also be prepared to commute to Academy Training Centres across the NW region in ST2-ST6 as teaching and education will be held at various sites.

- Edge Hill University will no longer be the location of the ST1 Academy from August 2024.
